Hang In There, Baby

Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.
my post-it collage smack dab with all my Studio designs/images/references.

"Road to closure, Volume 12? Poor bastard."

I have a good feeling about this week -presumably, we only have class until Tuesday since this Thursday is Thanksgiving but that's something I need to double check. My weekend started on Wednesday with plans to spend a long awaited night in Austin with 2 of my closest friends.

The plan was Wednesday/Thursday -weekend, Friday-Sunday -homework. My plan worked out pretty well and I completely finished my design for Studio. To help my design process flow I watched movies this weekend (a movie playing in the background ALWAYS helps me concentrate for some reason, the same can be said for music, and it's nuts when i have a movie on mute with music playing in the background). I focus best with several forms of stimulants going on.

With excellent movies playing in the background and designs coming together I grew more and more optimistic. I'm best when all I focus on is school. I even treated myself to a new nail polish -a very happy pink titled Thats Hot! Pink by OPI. I had my Betsey Johnson "C" necklace on to remind me of who I was and that "C" will always mean Cortez. I even started writing a lot more in my journal. Yes, things are definitely looking up. Here is what helped me get through this extra long weekend:

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist
really great movie. i LOVE movies that seem to take place in the course of a night or a short span of time. plus it has a very great soundtrack.

Rushmore
one. of. the. best. films. ever. Max is a dreamer, I can relate. A very close second to The Life Aquatic on my "favorite wes anderson films" list.

Little Miss Sunshine
I JUST discovered the soundtrack and it's amazing. DeVotchKa can bring on the happy unlike anything I was expecting. The movie's not bad either.

The Royal Tenenbaums
I love how heartbreaking this movie is, in a very abstract way it reminds me of my entire family. Royal is my favorite and definitely someone worth noticing. He reminds me a lot of one of my uncles. I guess that's why I feel for him. I was his Richie growing up.

Flight of The Conchords, Season 1
I saw season 2 for a while but was pretty disappointed. I felt they wrote their songs for the show rather than write their episodes based off their songs (which is the impression I got from Season 1). The show is great and it's unreal how attracted I am to Jemaine. I mean,he's tall, wears glasses, dark hair, dark eyes, looks a bit burly and has some pretty awesome hands (yes, i look at hands a lot)

I also had plenty of Karen O and the kids, DeVotchKa, Phoenix, and Kings of Convenience to help along the way. I still haven't considered my weekend over and have a few hours to kill before class. I'm thinking Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy while I work on more homework? Yes. sounds like a plan.
